Study of Thermal Stresses on Plain Carbon steel, grey cast iron and Stainless steel at Elevated Temperature

    Get PDF
The main processes include the study of heating affects of different materials with respect to the temperature. We are calculating the heating stresses as well as the residual stresses with respect to the different temperature. The commonly used materials taken for study as well as for experimental purpose are plain carbon steel, grey cast iron and stainless steel. These material vary in their compositions and effect of heating stresses may increase or decrease which depends on the increment or decrement of temperature. On the overall study it has been found that the heating stresses in plain carbon steel are greater than the grey cast iron and stainless steel. These variations in the three materials are find out at 1000 Kelvin and the results are tabulated at solid works. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.15079

Analysis of Crank End of Connecting Rod using Finite Element Method

    Get PDF
Connecting Rod is used practically in generally all varieties of automobile engines. Its acts as an intermediate link between the piston end and the crank end of an engine. It is responsible for transmitting the up and down motion of the piston end to the crankshaft of the engine, by converting the reciprocating motion of the piston end to the rotary motion of the crankshaft. Therefore, this study is carried out for the load and stress analysis of the crank end of the connecting rod. Also the results can be used for optimization for weight reduction and design modification of the bigger end of the connecting rod. For this the Pro-E software is used for modeling and analysis is carried out using ANSYS software. The results archived can help us identify the spot or section where chances of failure are high. Also the results obtained can be used to modify the existing designs so that better performance and longer life cycle can be archived. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.150311

Real-Time Implementation and Evaluation of a Support Vector Machine Based Fault Detector and Classifier for Distribution Grids

    Get PDF
Bridging the gap between theoretical modeling and practical implementation is essential in fault detection, classification, and location methods for modern distribution grids. Currently distribution grids are characterized by dispersed infeed and distributed power generation that render conventional protection settings more challenging, and, hence, new methods must be investigated to resolve these issues. In this paper, a novel framework capable of detecting and classifying faults in power distribution grids is presented. The proposed algorithm formulates a unique fault classification technique based on measurement samples of three-phase voltage and currents after the occurrence of a fault event in power distribution grid. Thereby, negative sequence components of three-phase voltage and current quantities are used for online fault detection that triggers a fault classification method based on a support vector machine. In order to simulate fault scenarios, a model of a reference distribution grid incorporating distributed generation is developed, simulated, and analyzed under fault conditions. For the final evaluation, the designed protection scheme is implemented on a Programmable Logic Controller connected to the model running on a real-time simulator hardware that provides voltage and current measurements. Thus experimental results are provided to demonstrate and prove the contribution of the algorithm in its ability to correctly identify and classify faults in modern distribution grids

This paper accentuate upon the application of Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning system in supporting the manufacture of quality pharmaceutical products. The HVAC system supply conditioned air to coveted areas of indoor surroundings to stimulate and maintain required temperature, humidity, ventilation and air-purity. The Good Manufacturing Practice for HVAC services embraces number of issues as well as determination of key parameters like temperature, humidity, pressures, filtration, airflow patterns and standard heat and cooling conventions. It also regulates the degree of operating various parameters for quality assurance, regulating the acceptance criteria, validation of the facility, and documentation for operation and maintenance. The WHO (World Health organization) as a factor of GMP is used by pharmaceutical regulators and the pharmaceutical industry in over one hundred countries worldwide, suggestively in the modernizing world according to the standards of pharmaceutical industries. This is a rare case of a young male with biopsy proven adenoid cystic carcinoma of the external auditory canal who underwent excision of the lesion with superficial parotidectomy sparing the facial nerve. Histopathology showed perineural invasion, which is a diagnostic hallmark of adenoid cystic carcinoma. Clinical examination, chest X-ray and CT scan showed no signs of recurrence or metastasis 2 years postoperatively
